Matchup plan

Consider taking Hail of Blades against Nautilus to combo with his hook for high burst and quickly stack plasma. Against engage supports, skip Oracle Lens and take other trinkets to avoid ganks. Low W accuracy leads to insufficient AP damage; low attack speed hinders auto-attack output.

Rune variants

How a strong Nautilus player plays

  1. 1

    Hook then E to disengage

Nautilus will hook your support when they step forward, then use E to slow and retreat, avoiding a trade.

  2. 2

Wait for hook CD to hook you back

In 3v3 fights, Nautilus will wait for his hook cooldown, then hook you back into his team for a focus fire.

  3. 3

Hail of Blades into QE combo

Nautilus will use Hail of Blades to auto-attack first, then Q+E combo with his ADC to secure first blood.
