Take Fleet Footwork for the movespeed to kite. Secondary: Presence of Mind and Cut Down, with Biscuits and Magical Footwear. Choose between Presence of Mind and Life Steal; Triumph has low value. Build Essence Reaver, Infinity Edge, and Rapid Firecannon. At two items (around 225 stacks), you enter your power spike and can play aggressively. Early when damage is low, consider buying a Cull to accelerate scaling.

How a strong Aphelios player plays

  1. 1

    Brush vision for AAs and Q stacks

    He will use the middle brush to hide and land auto attacks and stack Q. Poke him with fireballs when he last hits; position to the side of minions so he can't escape poke even under tower.

  2. 2

    W slow into E finish

    At range, he slows you with W, then uses E to fly in and secure the kill. If ambushed, use Flash to disengage.

  3. 3

    Weak without ult

    Without his ult, his burst is weak; he mainly uses W to set up Q poke. Note his stacking efficiency—after 25 stacks, Q stacking becomes faster.
