Matchup plan

Against Lissandra, taking Resolve secondary runes reduces lane pressure. Getting Mercury's Treads early increases your margin for error against Lissandra by reducing CC duration. Hwei's damage scales more with level than items; after maxing Q at level 9, damage spikes significantly. Building Horizon Focus second maximizes your damage output and carry potential.

Hwei vs Lissandra · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

After level 6, Lissandra's combo with her jungler is almost a guaranteed kill. Hwei has no dash and is vulnerable to being engaged on, so you must be careful with positioning at all times.

Level 1: Use E to poke, but passive is hard to proc; overall weak. After level 3: Comet comes online; use W passive into Q poke, then E to disengage.Level 6: Lissandra has R for a full combo; be careful not to get engaged on.Maxed Q deals high damage; pushing towers is better than roaming.Teamfights: Fear Lissandra's R engage; keep distance while dealing damage.

How a strong Lissandra player plays

  1. 1

E to gap close and trade

Lissandra likes to use E to gap close and trade. Hold your E and don't use it too early; wait for her to use E before retaliating.

  2. 2

    Q through minions to poke

Lissandra likes to use Q through minions to poke. Watch your positioning to avoid getting hit by Q that also hits minions.

  3. 3

    Level 6 E into R engage

After level 6, Lissandra will use E into R combo to engage. Keep distance to avoid being CC'd.
