Swain vs Galio · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Swain has an advantage against Galio. His E can reliably pull Galio back to stack Soul Shards. Galio is clunky and takes full Q damage easily. Control the wave and avoid ganks to suppress him.

Levels 1-3: Use range advantage to poke, dodge Galio's E.Laning phase: Freeze wave to stack Soul Shards, watch for jungle ganks.Level 6 power spike: Can fight with ult, but beware of Galio's roam.Mid-game transition: Push wave then roam, or coordinate with jungler for tower dives.Teamfights: Position backline, use E and W to limit Galio's engage.

How a strong Galio player plays

  1. 1

    E Trade

Galio will use E to charge you while you last hit. Even if you pull him back with E, he still trades. Keep distance.

  2. 2

    Bait with Ward Clear

When Galio clears your ward in front of you, his jungler is likely nearby. Don't overcommit; stay back and poke.

  3. 3

    Ignite All-in

Galio with Ignite is aggressive. He will walk into your Q to take full damage, making him easier to kill.
