Taliyah vs Irelia · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Irelia has high burst when fully stacked and gets on top of you. Taliyah is squishy; if hit by Irelia's E, you basically have to Flash. You can only avoid fights by managing the wave. It's very hard at the same skill level.

How a strong Irelia player plays

  1. 1

    Level 1 Q stacking

Good Irelia players will Q three low minions at level 1 to fully stack, then Q onto you to trade. You should auto-attack the wave to spread minion health so three melee minions aren't low at the same time.

  2. 2

Predict Unraveled Earth when she Qs

When Irelia Qs a minion, good players will predict your Unraveled Earth placement. Pre-place it so she gets stunned when she Qs, making the trade favorable.

  3. 3

    After her E hits, chasing

If Irelia lands her E on you and the wave is near your tower, she can only auto you a few times. But if the wave is pushed up, she will Q onto you and deal full damage.
