Matchup plan

As an assassin mage, Vex doesn't rely heavily on ability haste against Jayce; prioritize burst damage for one-shot potential. If ahead in items (e.g., Lost Chapter vs Long Sword), push aggressively to deny Jayce's roam. Third item: Shadowflame, fourth: Rabadon's for max damage. If enemy stacks MR, swap to Void Staff earlier for better efficiency.

How a strong Jayce player plays

  1. 1

    Hammer Form to Dodge Fear

Jayce will switch to hammer form to dodge your passive fear and trade back, reclaiming lane priority.

  2. 2

    Push When You're OOM

When you're out of mana, Jayce will hard push, preventing you from poking and allowing him to roam first.

  3. 3

    Acceleration Gate Kiting

Jayce uses Acceleration Gate to kite away from your E poke while maintaining push.
