Matchup plan

Take Ignite for stronger early pressure and kill potential; Teleport is more passive, giving Zed more opportunities after 6.

Vex vs Zed · Mid lane matchup

01

Core game plan

At the same skill level, Vex beats Zed. Before level 6, you can bully him easily. After 6, still not afraid; without ult, Zed is a free kill.

How a strong Zed player plays

  1. 1

    Play safe without ult

Top Zeds play very passively when ult is down, not giving trade opportunities, waiting for ult to come back.

  2. 2

    W-E-Q poke

After level 3, Zed will poke with W-E-Q combo. He'll stand behind minions to reduce your Q damage or dodge your skills.

  3. 3

    Bait and counter

High-level Zeds will first use W to bait your fear, then use W's recast to dodge your skill and counterattack.
