Matchup plan

If you feel you can gain an advantage in lane, take Sweeper to clear enemy wards and deny vision. Buy Ionian Boots of Lucidity to reduce hook cooldown, allowing more frequent hooks to pressure Kai'Sa.

Thresh vs Kai'Sa · Support matchup

01

Core game plan

Thresh is good against Kai'Sa. His hook can interrupt her dash. After Kai'Sa uses E, she has no mobility and is easy to hook. Hooking from bush vision is easier to land.

How a strong Kai'Sa player plays

  1. 1

    E to Bait Hook

Kai'Sa will intentionally use E to bait your hook, then use the movement speed to dodge, and counterattack after your Q misses.

  2. 2

    R to Dodge Hook

After evolving, Kai'Sa will predict your hook and use R to dash onto you, dodging the hook and getting close to deal damage.

  3. 3

    Q Poke

Kai'Sa will use Q to poke you while you last hit, keeping distance to make it hard for you to retaliate, then pressure you after lowering your HP.
