How a strong Maokai player plays

    Q to farm and poke

    Maokai will use Q to last hit and poke you. Watch your positioning to avoid it; he has a cooldown after Q.

    Passive sustain

    Maokai's passive heals him. After trading, he may heal from minions; don't give him the chance.

    W engage for trade

    Maokai will W to engage then Q for a combo. When he Ws, use your W to slow him, then hit outer Q to counter.
