Matchup plan

Take Phase Rush. After E pulling a spirit, W procs it reliably, granting speed and slow resistance for kiting Gwen. Hard to proc when behind, reducing rune value. Secondary: Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Scorch, Presence of Mind, Last Stand. Shards: 2 Adaptive Force, 65 Health. This allows you to chase Gwen.

How a strong Gwen player plays

  1. 1

    E Bait

Gwen will use E to close in and bait your E. After you use E, she backs off and trades again when her E is up sooner.

  2. 2

    R Chase Combo

Gwen will slow you with R, then follow up with Q and E to deal full damage while you're slowed.

  3. 3

    W Blocks Your E

Gwen will predict your E cast and use W to block it, negating your E and tentacle damage, ruining your trade.
