Jax vs Akali · Top lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Jax can freeze the wave and rush level 2 early. When Akali has no energy, she's easy to fight. Even after level 6, she struggles against Jax. Overall a dominant matchup.

How a strong Akali player plays

  1. 1

    Holding E to Kite

As long as Akali holds her E, she can kite you easily. If you jump on her, she E's away, making it hard to deal with.

  2. 2

    Q Energy Drain

She will poke you with Q. Watch your positioning to dodge it; if she has no energy, she can't outtrade you.

  3. 3

    Level 6 Kill Threat

Once Akali hits level 6, she has her ultimate. Combined with E and passive, she has solo kill potential. Be careful when low health to avoid being burst down.
