Matchup plan

Yorick's Bramble Vest is useless; you heal fully from ghouls since you don't attack him. After Hullbreaker, you can E to block all abilities and destroy tower in his face.

Jax vs Yorick · Top lane matchup

01

Core game plan

Jax's E perfectly counters Yorick's Q and ghouls, winning trades easily. Later, split pushing is a breeze; at equal skill, Jax dominates.

How a strong Yorick player plays

  1. 1

    E then R all-in

High-level Yorick will hit E, then immediately ult, using Maiden and ghouls to force your E, then back off and re-engage after E ends.

  2. 2

Q to bait E, then kite

He will fake Q on minions or poke to bait your E, then retreat and wait for E to expire before trading.

  3. 3

    W to trap with jungler

When wave is under tower, he uses W to block your escape, enabling jungler to dive; you can't both block damage and stun with E.
