Matchup plan

Primary: Fleet Footwork for general pressure; Conqueror only for experienced players; Grasp of the Undying has low scaling, not recommended. Secondary: Aggressive for experienced, Resolve (Second Wind) or Inspiration (Biscuits) for beginners. Against heavy CC or kiting? Take Phase Rush to stick to enemies. Mercury Treads' tenacity reduces Kennen stun duration, making it easier to kill with ult and Wither.

How a strong Kennen player plays

  1. 1

    Ranged Poke Pressure

Kennen will frequently poke you with Q, dealing damage while you last hit, keeping your HP low so you can't stack Q.

  2. 2

    E Kiting

When you use Ghost or W to close in, he'll use E to speed away, preventing you from stacking.

  3. 3

    Level 6 Kill Bait

When you're low, he'll push the wave to bait you under tower, then you ult to counterkill, but trading kills is fine for him.
