Matchup plan

Against Malphite, take Second Wind and double MR shards, with Doran's Shield start to avoid being solo killed. Against Malphite, Nasus can take Lethal Tempo to ignore Malphite's W attack speed reduction, making early trades favorable. Heartsteel Nasus is a fun build but not strong; even with high stacks, it's mediocre because you need HP items like Titanic Hydra and Warmog's, which don't scale well on Nasus. Heartsteel Nasus fears percent true damage and percent HP items like BotRK and Divine Sunderer. Consider it only if the enemy lacks these. Starting Tear of the Goddess and building Fimbulwinter is very aggressive and lacks defensive stats. Against a smart Malphite with Arcane Comet, Ignite, and max Q, you can't survive the poke. Don't blindly copy this.

Nasus vs Malphite · Top lane matchup

01

Core game plan

If Malphite doesn't want to die, Nasus can't solo kill him, but Nasus can farm safely and stack Q. Neither can do much to the other; it depends on who makes a mistake first.

How a strong Malphite player plays

  1. 1

    Q slow then back off

At level 1, Malphite will Q you to slow, then back off to avoid trading, only soaking XP.

  2. 2

    QW then trade

At level 2, he'll QW then back off, then auto E to knock you back, preventing you from chasing.

  3. 3

Wait for your ult then all-in

After you ult, he'll back off and wait for cooldowns, then ult + Ignite to kill you.
