Matchup plan

Rune variants

  • Primary: Fleet Footwork for general pressure; Conqueror only for experienced players; Grasp has low scaling, not recommended. Secondary: Aggressive setup for experienced players; beginners take Resolve (Second Wind) or Inspiration (Biscuits) for pressure.
  • Against heavy CC or kiting? Take Phase Rush to stick to enemies and not get kited.

How a strong Shen player plays

  1. 1

    Empowered Q trade

Shen will trade with empowered Q, dealing high damage. Back off when you see the blade glow.

  2. 2

Short E range, won't dive deep

Shen's E has short range; near tower, he won't dare to E onto you.

  3. 3

    Pressure CS before 6

Before level 6, Shen focuses on pressuring CS and proccing Grasp, but can't easily kill you.
