Matchup plan

Take Lethal Tempo for sustained trades. Skill order: put two points in E to counter Jax's Q jump trades, but don't max E first because Jax's E cooldown reduction per level is higher; max Q and W for lane strength. First recall priority: buy Warden's Mail, as both enemy top and jungle deal physical damage—one item counters both.

01

Core game plan

Warwick has a skill advantage against Jax: his E cancels Jax's E, trades are favorable, wave control prevents ganks, and he can dominate early.

How a strong Jax player plays

  1. 1

    Level 1 E Trade

Jax uses E at level 1 to reset his auto and stun you, winning the trade and chunking your HP.

  2. 2

    E Cooldown Abuse

Jax's E has 2 more seconds cooldown than yours; he will use his E after yours ends to counter you, leaving you unable to retaliate.

  3. 3

    Q Disengage and Kite

After Jax jumps on you with Q, use your ultimate to chase and ensure hits; also, when your E is down, he will Q and bite you for free trades.
